Board approves promotion of staff

The Board has approved promotion and resignation of staff to various positions in the college subject to meeting specific requirements as per Government’s regulations.

The initial batch of those promoted or re-designated is in excess of 400 and is being implemented from August 2017.

The exercise is ongoing as conveyed by KMTC CEO Mr. Peter Tum in a circular to staff dated 14th July, 2017.

Among those promoted are lecturers, accountants, HR personnel, administrators and ICT specialists.

Says the Director in the circular: “The College is in the process of considering promotions and re-designations of staff to other grades that they qualify for in accordance to the existing service regulations.”

These promotions are part of improvement of terms of service for KMTC staff. They are also part of efforts to recognize excellence in work performance by staff as well as improvement in their academic performance.

A number of staff promoted are those who have undertaken training in their areas of specialization.

The CEO has urged staff to double their efforts as a way of showing gratitude for the promotions.

The promotions, according to the circular, will start with those in the common establishment grades to be followed by those in competitive grades, which will be advertised in due course.
