KMTC Busia campus is an initiative of the Kenya Medical Training College and the Busia County Government. The foundation stone for the construction of the campus was laid by the Governor Busia County Government Hon. Sospeter Ojamong on Ocober 9, 2014 with construction beginning immediately.
The KMTC steering committee was then established in 2015 to oversee the implementation of the project activities. The first phase of the construction was complete by July 2016.
The college is located next to Busia County Referal Hospital in Busia town in Matayos constituency Busia county which is 500 metres from the Kenya –Uganda boarder post.
The campus offers the following courses:
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine
- Diploma in Kenya Registered Health Nursing
The campus has the following facilities
- Computer lab
- Four classrooms
- Multipurpose hall
Clubs and societies
For holistic learning, students can participate in the sporting activities available at the campus.
They can also join the following clubs and societies:

- Catholic students association
- Muslim students association
- Red cross
