KMTC makes entry into Mandera County

KMTC has a new campus in Mandera County. The opening of the new campus in September 2017 brings to 67 the total number of KMTC campuses in 43 out of the 47 counties in the country.

Construction of the new campus is ongoing in readiness to receive its first batch of students when it begins training.

Some of the students from Somali will also be trained at the Campus. The students will be part of the 200 agreed by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Somalia counterpart Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed when the Somalia President visited the country March.

Speaking when he visited the campus, KMTC Director Peter Tum said the new campus is in line with the Government’s strategy of increasing the number of qualified healthcare professionals in the county and beyond. He also said that the campus would admit qualified applicants from the County to train in the campus.

“We will request the Board to authorize employment of lecturers under contract for the new campus,” Mr. Tum further added.

KMTC Garissa will mentor the upcoming campus.
