KMTC set to go digital

The KMTC admission process and issuing of transcripts is set to go online once plans of upgrading the Academic system at the college are finalized. The KMTC Director Peter Tum informed staff of this when he toured Kisii KMTC on February 3, 2016.

He held a meeting with the Principal in the latter’s office where he was informed of infrastructural development at the college.  New classrooms have been built while there are plans to renovate some more. There are also plans to expand the Phlebotomy lab and the kitchen has been renovated. The Principal however requested for a better TV for the students.

The Director also met staff where he thanked them for their prayers which enabled him get the position of Director at the college. He thanked them for their team work, “We have fought many battles together and if we continue working this way we will overcome many challenges”, he said. He assured them that having worked at KMTC for many years he was aware of the challenges they faced as staff but regardless, KMTC is still one of the best paying institutions and we should be happy and proud of the college.

He also reassured them that their challenges were being addressed and they would get buses and a pick-up to ease transport of students and staff at the college. He however said that everyone must do their part and those who working hard will be rewarded while those sleeping on the job would be punished.

Members of staff sought to know why their promotions were taking so long and they also expressed their concern over what they termed as lack of clear designations as well as shortage of staff.

The students also expressed their concern over the shortage of lecturers to which the Director responded that lecturers deployed to the college by the ministry would be absorbed together with their pay roll courtesy of the President’s assurance. “Talk to management and let there be open communication between the management and students”, he challenged them further challenging them “Be positive thinkers so you can attract what you want. If you are a negative thinker you perish”. The Director concluded by promising the students he would talk to the Principal to have WI-FI hotspots around the college
