KMTC signs 2018/2019 Performance contract with Government
KMTC Board Chairman Prof. Philip Kaloki on September 10th, 2018 signed the 2018/2019 Performance contract with Health Cabinet Secretary (CS) Mrs. Sicily Kariuki on behalf of the College.
The Performance contract spells out the targets the College is expected to meet in the current financial year in support of the Government’s ‘Big 4 Agenda’ and in particular the UHC agenda.
At the signing, Health CS Mrs. Kariuki stressed that there should be total implementation of strategies towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC), the global agenda and other Government priorities. “The three areas of UHC that we must address are: Affordability, Accessibility and Quality of Health care”, she added.
The CS also encouraged Semi- Autonomous Government Agencies (SAGAs) under the Ministry of Health to come up with innovative business models and partnerships amongst themselves. “Explore possibilities of Joint projects between SAGAs,” she said.
Health PS Peter Tum emphasized that signing of Performance Contracts was an important event in the Ministry as it signifies a commitment to work diligently and efficiently to deliver services to the public and address the government’s “Big 4” Agenda.
After the signing, the PC was handed over to the Board Chairman. CEO Prof. Michael Kiptoo will then sign the PC with the Board and before cascading it to Principals and senior managers for implementation.
Prof. Kaloki was accompanied by CEO Prof Michael Kiptoo, Board Vice Chairman Eng. David Muthoga and the Chair of the Board’s Finance Committee Mr. Mithamo Muchiri to the signing.
