Lamu Campus


KMTC Lamu campus was established in September 2016 as collaboration between the Lamu County Government and the KMTC.

Courses Offered

The campus currently only offers health records and information

Clinical Experience sites

Students from the campus gain their clinical experience from the following hospitals:

  • King Fahad referral hospital (on Amu island)
  • Mpeketoni sub-county hospital in the Boni Hinterland,
  • Malindi sub-county hospital and Coast General Referral hospital.


The Lamu county government has given the campus a block at the Mokowe Sub-county hospital that has been converted into four classrooms, one skills lab, and a computer lab. Variations to the building are at 85%.

The County Government has also allocated the campus a 10 acre parcel of land adjoining the hospital where a modern campus will be put up.
