President Ruto Visits Proposed KMTC Maralal, Commends Progress in Expanding Healthcare Training
On the second day of his tour of Samburu County, H.E President William Ruto visited the proposed KMTC in Maralal, (Samburu County), marking a notable milestone for healthcare education in the region.
The President was received by CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch, accompanied by a team of KMTC staff.
Hon. Naisula Lesuuda’s exemplary leadership in championing this project was notably recognized.
During the visit, President Ruto commended the remarkable progress of the project and assured the construction of a modern student hostel under the Affordable Housing Programme.
Emphasizing the nation’s healthcare priorities, the President affirmed, “We are investing in the training of healthcare professionals to ensure the success of Universal Health Coverage.”
He further outlined ongoing reforms such as the rollout of the Social Health Authority and recruitment of Community Health Promoters, describing them as critical steps toward building a responsive, people-focused healthcare system designed to reach every Kenyan, wherever they reside.
