Faculty of Clinical Sciences

The Faculty of Clinical Sciences prepares skilled professionals to provide essential medical, surgical, and emergency care, particularly in underserved areas. The faculty emphasizes practical training to strengthen health service delivery across all levels of care.

  1. Clinical Medicine: The program trains Clinical Officers (COs), mid-level health professionals who deliver curative, preventive, promotive, and rehabilitative services. COs play a vital role in managing health centers and supporting medical doctors in Level IV and V hospitals. Their expertise is especially critical in rural and remote settings where medical specialists may be scarce.
  2. Orthopaedic Trauma Medicine: Orthopaedic Trauma Technicians are trained to manage bone and soft tissue injuries using non-operative methods. Their responsibilities include reducing fractures and dislocations, applying and removing casts and bandages, correcting congenital deformities (such as foot and ankle issues in infants), managing minor trauma cases, and raising community awareness about orthopaedic conditions.
