The national festival, hosted at Moi Girls High School, Eldoret, concluded today, December 8, 2025, after a vibrant showcase that began on November 29, 2025. Held under the theme “Threads of Culture, Weaves of Opportunity,” the event celebrated the powerful interplay between cultural heritage and socio-economic progress. The closing ceremony was officiated by His Excellency, the Deputy President, Prof. Kithure Kindiki, further underscoring the festival’s national significance.
KMTC Nakuru’s winning presentation, a dramatised oral verse titled “Twende Theatre,” delivered a strong message on the value of participation in cultural festivals. Through dynamic performance and artistic depth, the piece highlighted culture as a unifying force and a gateway to opportunity, echoing the festival's overarching theme.
Present to receive the award on behalf of the College was the CEO, Dr. Kelly Oluoch. His attendance affirmed KMTC’s dedication to nurturing well-rounded graduates who excel not only academically and clinically, but also culturally and socially.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Oluoch reinforced the College’s belief that cultural competence is an essential component of national cohesion and professional development. “Cultural competence is not just an addition to our training; it is central to building national cohesion and shaping well-rounded health professionals who can serve with understanding, respect, and unity,” said Dr Oluoch.
KMTC Nakuru’s achievement demonstrates the College’s ongoing leadership in integrating arts, culture, and community involvement into its training philosophy. The victory also honours the important role educational institutions play in preserving Kenya’s cultural heritage while employing artistic expression to foster meaningful societal dialogue.
