College rally investor support at high-level conference
The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) showcased its investment opportunities at the 7th Africa Health Business Symposium (AHBS) Thursday (February 24, 2022) in Nairobi.
The Acting CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch led the College in exhibiting its ventures and pitching for investor support at a side event.
He noted that the College is open to broadening its partnership in key areas, including the provision of bursary funds to support needy students, equipping the library with books, provision of computers for students and Faculty, and training equipment.
“In addition, we have opportunities in the transport sector to facilitate students to practical areas, ICT expansion, and infrastructural expansion – construction of student hostels and classrooms,” he said.
The conference was attended by high-level dignitaries from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and government officials.
The First Lady Margaret Kenyatta who spoke at the main forum, advocated for increased investment in reproductive, maternal, adolescent and child health systems.
Health Principal Secretary Susan Mochache emphasised the need to devote necessary expertise and resources to achieve zero maternal and child deaths.
The AHBS is a Pan-African conference that sits at the heart of the African healthcare scene.
The forum seeks to promote constructive working relationships between the public and private sectors, creating a more enabling environment for the private health sector on the African continent.
