KMTC Seeks Collaboration with Samburu County Government to Boost Healthcare Services and Medical Training
The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Chairperson, Amb. Zachary Muburi-Muita, accompanied by CEO, Dr. Kelly Oluoch, paid a courtesy call on the Samburu County Governor His Excellency Jonathan Lati Leleliit for a discussion, aimed at fostering partnerships that would enhance healthcare services and medical training in the region.
The meeting, held at the Governor’s office on May 19, 2023, commenced with a warm reception from Governor Leleliit, who expressed his gratitude for the visit and emphasized the importance of collaboration in improving the well-being of the people of Samburu County.
He highlighted the pressing healthcare needs in the region, including access to quality medical facilities, specialized training for healthcare professionals, and the importance of preventive healthcare initiatives.
On his part, Amb. Muita underscored the significance of quality healthcare education and training in addressing the healthcare challenges faced by the county. He emphasized the potential for collaboration between KMTC and the Samburu County government to establish sustainable healthcare initiatives.
“The College’s goal is to ensure that the residents of Samburu have access to quality healthcare alongside human resources for health who are equipped with the necessary skills to provide comprehensive care. This visit signifies our commitment to fostering partnerships that will bring about positive change in the healthcare sector,” the Chairperson said.
Speaking in the same meeting, CEO Dr. Oluoch reaffirmed KMTC’s commitment to equipping healthcare professionals with the necessary skills. “We intend to extend our reach and work closely with counties across Kenya, aiming to uplift healthcare standards and bridge the health workforce gaps in underserved areas,” he added.
Through joint efforts with the Samburu County Government, residents can anticipate enhanced access to quality healthcare in the region.
