Introduction

KMTC libraries in the 65 campuses offer state-of-the-art technology, vast collections of reading and research material, and the specialized services of friendly, efficient, and helpful staff.

The Libraries house more than 1.5 million print volumes with medical information, as well as electronic books and journals, all classified under library of congress classification scheme.

The libraries are committed to supporting teaching, learning and research programmes at certificate, diploma and higher diploma levels for students, lecturers and non teaching staff through collection and provision of relevant and up to date medical information materials.

Libraries staff are well-trained to cater to the differing needs of KMTC students and medical research-oriented communities.

To cater for special needs of our valued clients, some libraries extend operating hours to 9.00 p.m.

Services
Services offered in KMTC libraries include circulation services, user education, internet, current awareness services, and selective dissemination of information and inter-library lending. Some libraries also have printing, copying, and scanning facilities, while others are a one-stop-shop for students to research, write up, and print out their assignments and essays.

Acquisition
The libraries acquire information materials through purchase and donations from such partners like UK’s Book Aid International, World Health Organization and individuals.

Purchase of library materials is done either yearly, bi-annually or quarterly.
