TOWN HALLS TO SPOTLIGHT KMTC’S FUTURE VISION
Over the next two months, the College will hold a series of town hall meetings to raise awareness of its Strategic Plan 2023-2028.
The sessions to be held across eight regional clusters from November 26, 2024, to February 4, 2025, are designed to raise awareness of the College’s future direction, foster collaboration, and ensure alignment with national and global healthcare needs.
At the heart of these discussions is the College’s vision to expand its influence beyond Kenya’s borders by strengthening training, research, and consultancy services. Speaking during the first townhall session, CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch emphasized the College’s commitment to equipping graduates with globally competitive skills.
“We are positioning KMTC as a leader in medical training, not just in Kenya but internationally. This strategic plan provides a roadmap for enhancing the quality of education, integrating technology, and expanding research and consultancy services,” he stated.
The Strategic Plan focuses on four key areas: quality training, research, innovation and consultancy, digital transformation and institutional sustainability. These pillars are expected to drive KMTC’s growth while ensuring its training programs remain responsive to the evolving demands of the healthcare sector.
As part of its digital transformation agenda, KMTC is expanding virtual learning platforms, strengthening its digital library, and investing in simulation laboratories to provide hands-on training experiences. Dr. Oluoch underscored the importance of these initiatives, highlighting how they will optimize resources, improve service delivery, and enhance access to training programs.
Among the key takeaways from the already conducted sessions was the need for continuous sensitization on the strategic plan’s objectives, particularly at the campus level. Participants also called for stronger collaboration with policymakers and healthcare institutions to ensure the successful implementation of KMTC’s vision.
The town hall meetings, which were also streamed on the College YouTube channel, have continued to attract thousands of participants and viewers.
The interactive sessions allowed the College leadership to listen to questions, address challenges, and gather valuable feedback that will help improve the implementation of the strategic plan across all KMTC Campuses.
The insights gained from these discussions are expected to inform continuous improvements in KMTC’s strategic initiatives.
