College to focus on modernizing its Campuses
Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Board Chairperson, Amb. Zachary Muburi-Muita has assured of the Board’s commitment to modernizing training to give students a competitive edge.
He reported that the Board would further work towards improving infrastructure in the Campuses, particularly hostels, tuition blocks and sports facilities.
Amb. Muita said this on Monday (7th March 2022) when he visited KMTC Karen, accompanied by the Ag. CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch and other members of the Senior Management team.
Addressing students, staff and other stakeholders, Amb. Muita commended the Campus management, led by Principal Dr. Karen Kibet for their efforts in enhancing teaching and learning on the Campus.
“The Board will do its best to transform Campuses to global standards to boost teaching and learning. We will do this in collaboration with development partners,” he said.
“Regarding Karen Campus, we will pursue its classification as a Center of Excellence in training for Nutritionists to ensure our graduates stand out in the job market,” he added.
On academics, Amb. Muita challenged the students to work hard, with discipline being the key to success, adding that character is developed through hard work, discipline and commitment.
He applauded the partnership with the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and the role they are playing in supporting the College to achieve its mandate.
The tour by the Board Chairperson is the first one in a series of other visits to various Campuses across the country to assess their development needs towards ensuring the provision of the highest quality of training.
