KMTC Set to Enhance Sports Facilities Across all its Campuses
In a bid to nurture talents and promote healthy interactions among students, the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has announced plans to equip all of its Campuses with state-of-the-art sporting facilities.
This announcement was made by the KMTC CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch during the official opening of the Region One Sports Competitions held at Shanzu Teachers Training College on April 16th, 2023.
“Sports have always played a vital role in fostering healthy interactions and promoting physical fitness among students,” the CEO said, highlighting his determination to ensure that all students have access to the necessary resources to develop their sporting talents.
“This move is not only aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle but also at helping to combat drug abuse,” he added.
Dr. Oluoch expressed his pride in the College’s sporting activities, held concurrently in four regions across the country, marking the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.
He acknowledged the critical role students play in the national health fabric and reiterated the College’s commitment to ensuring their happiness and engagement in sporting activities.
During the event, the CEO congratulated the committees involved in ensuring the success of the games and also gave a special shout-out to Oscar Kibet from Port Reitz Campus, who represented Kenya in the Junior International Hockey Competition held in Egypt earlier this year.
The participating Campuses’ Principals and staff were present at the event, showing their support for the initiative. The CEO wished the teams the best of luck and encouraged everyone to give their all in the spirit of friendly competition.
With the promise of enhanced sporting facilities in all KMTC Campuses, students can look forward to a bright future where their talents can be nurtured, and they can engage in healthy activities that will benefit their minds and bodies.
