KMTC Student Set to Represent Kenya at Asia Youth International Conference in Malaysia

Emmanuel Odongo, a student at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Nairobi Campus, has been chosen as a participant in the prestigious Asia Youth International Model United Nations (MUN) Conference. The conference, which is the 12th edition, is scheduled to take place from 12th to 15th, August 2023, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The young Odongo’s remarkable journey began in March 2019 when he joined KMTC to pursue a certificate in Medical Engineering. His passion for diplomacy and international relations drove him to join Kenya Model United Nations – a student-run organization that stimulates the activities of the United Nations.

Although he initially attended conferences as a bench marker, his experiences further fueled his desire to participate actively. Undeterred, Emmanuel made numerous applications and submissions, eagerly hoping for a chance to attend as a participant.

Finally, his perseverance paid off when he secured a spot to represent Kenya at the Asia Youth United Nations Model.

During the four-day event, hosted at the prestigious Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Odongo will present his topic on “Protection of children in war-torn and conflict-ridden areas.” Leveraging his medical engineering background, he plans to provide a unique perspective on the issue. With this remarkable opportunity, he aspires to showcase the excellence of KMTC and put Kenya on the global map.

Odongo’s selection for the Asia Youth International MUN Conference is not only a testament to his dedication but also an acknowledgment of his commitment to making a positive impact on the world stage. As he prepares to embark on this remarkable journey, the College stands united in support, eagerly anticipating the global recognition that his participation will bring.
